Call for Abstracts

Please note that the abstract submission deadline has been extended to 31 March 2024.

The workshop's format is mirrored after the model of the annual SMS conferences. Presentations will be 25 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for a commentator, a 5 minute reply from the speaker, and 10 minutes for Q&A.

We welcome submissions on any topic in the metaphysics of chemistry. However, please note the five workshop themes on the home page. The workshop follows a three-step submission model:

STEP 1: Candidate speakers should submit a 1-page abstract by 31 March. All abstracts must be prepared for anonymous review, and should be submitted electronically via the website of the workshop:

Submitted abstracts will be blind-reviewed by the scientific committee. Notifications of acceptance will be delivered by 22 April.

STEP 2: Selected speakers should confirm their participation by 29 April and are expected to submit a short paper of no more than 4,500 words (excluding references and footnotes) by 15 June.

STEP 3: Authors are encouraged to extend their paper after the workshop, based on the presentation and corresponding discussion, and to submit a full paper to be reviewed. 

Accepted papers will be published in an edited volume on the metaphysics of chemistry.
